It’s a matter of course: Spray cans are free of CFC

Treibmittel ohne FCKW

With the CFC/Halon Prohibition Ordinance of 1991 the use of CFC had been forbidden for spray cans due to the continuous damaging effect of CFC to the ozone layer in the stratosphere. Already some years earlier – namely in 1977 – European Aerosols committed themselves voluntarily to use only CFC-free propellants for the production of spray paints. Currently several consumer councils in Germany admonish enterprises with the argument, that they advertise with “a matter of course”,  if they offer their products as “CFC-free” or “without CFC”. Since approx. 20 years it is a standard not to use CFC. Against this background we want to inform you, that we do no longer mention this “matter of course” and recommend our partners to consider this also on all communication media (e.g. brochures, internet or advertisements).
